At PHAB, we believe everyone should have the chance to belong, connect, and have fun. Our clubs bring together disabled and non-disabled people to share activities, build friendships, and create strong, inclusive communities.

Fundraising helps us keep our programmes accessible and affordable for everyone. One of the easiest and most fun ways to support PHAB is by taking part in a community event and fundraising while you do it.

Whether you run, walk, cycle, swim, or roll, every kilometre can help make a difference.

Take on a Challenge for PHAB

Community events are a great way to challenge yourself while supporting inclusion. You can sign up for events such as:

  • Round the Bays
  • Auckland Marathon
  • Charity fun runs, fun rides, or swimming events in your community
  • School or workplace fitness challenges

You can participate solo, with friends, or as a team and dedicate your challenge to PHAB.

How It Works

1. Choose Your Event

Pick an event that suits you. It could be a major event like Round the Bays, or a local fun run, cycle ride, swim, or walk.

2. Register for the Event

Sign up through the event’s official website.

3. Fundraise for PHAB

Set up a fundraising page and ask friends, whānau, and colleagues to support your challenge. Share your journey on social media to spread the word.

4. Take on the Challenge

Run, walk, swim, cycle, move or roll your way to the finish line knowing you’re helping build a more inclusive community.

Other Ways to Fundraise for PHAB

Not everyone wants to run a marathon — and that’s okay! There are plenty of creative, social, and fun ways to raise funds while bringing people together for inclusion.

Host an Event

Bring your community together and fundraise at the same time.

Ideas include:

  • Quiz nights or trivia evenings
  • Movie nights 
  • BBQs or sausage sizzles
  • Bake sales
  • Community picnics
  • Live music nights
  • Comedy nights

You can charge a small entry fee, run raffles, or collect donations during the event.


Workplace Fundraisers

Get your colleagues involved and turn fundraising into a team effort.
